Lost Your Dominica Passport Abroad? Your First Steps

If your Dominica passport is lost or stolen overseas, report it promptly to the nearest police station and contact the appropriate Dominica mission or Immigration Office for guidance. A replacement is a different process from an ordinary renewal.

Record what happened

Obtain a police declaration or certificate from the place where the passport was lost or stolen. Keep the report reference, date and location. If you have travel booked, tell the relevant authorities immediately so you can ask about the appropriate travel arrangements.

Gather your remaining documents

Our lost or stolen passport service lists a copy of the missing passport if available, Certificate of Naturalization, birth record, photographs, signed passport form and statutory declaration among the supporting items. A damaged passport may also need special handling. Translation, certification and the age of documents can matter, so have the package reviewed before couriering originals.

Allow for additional charges and processing

A replacement application may involve charges beyond normal passport issue costs. We will review the circumstances and provide a current checklist and quote. The Passport Office determines the requirements, approval and issuance.
